Scope and Contents From the Collection:

This collection includes personal files, materials generally related to education in Hong Kong, and materials related to Sweeting’s time as a professor the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of History at the University of Hong Kong. There are also files relating to research he did for several publications, including two volumes on the history of education in Hong Kong, and drafts for these works. These files are the bulk of the collection.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

This collection consists of three Faculty of arts albums and loose photos from the 1920s-1990s. The majority of the photographs are from the 1920s and 1930s. Most photographs are group shots of Faculty of Arts graduates of members of the Arts Association.

Scope and Contents

Handwritten scores for Chinese classical texts and poems. Scores include 大雅‧烝民, 大雅‧抑(之五、七), 小雅‧南山有臺, 國風‧衛風‧淇澳 and 國風‧周南‧關雎 from 詩經 (Shijing, Classic of Poetry), 越人歌 (Song of the Yue Boatman), 大風歌 (written by 劉邦), 天涯 (written by 李商隱), 兵車行 (written by 杜甫) and 柳搖金 (suspected to be an extract of an opera). The scores are mostly written in numbered musical notation (簡譜) except the one for 柳搖金, which is written in Gongche notation (工尺譜).
